Description :

Web Page Authoring Fundamentals is designed to teach students Web page creation and other aspects of Web authoring. Students gain experience developing Web pages in a text editor and a graphical user interface (GUI) editor. Students also learn how to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and study the basics of Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML), JavaScript, Dynamic HTML (DHTML), and the Document Object Model (DOM). After completing this course, students will be able to create simple Web pages containing text, graphics, hyperlinks, tables, forms and frames.



Objectives :
  • Identify front-end and back-end Web design issues, and estimate download time for Web pages.
  • Create basic Web pages using an HTML text editor and a GUI Web page editor.
  • Incorporate lines, colors, graphic images and tiled background images into Web pages.
  • Create Web hyperlinks for text, images, local files and remote sites, and create and link client-side image maps.
  • Create HTML tables and frames, construct and test forms, and validate Web documents.
  • Structure Web documents with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • Describe the functionality of JavaScript, Dynamic HTML (DHTML) and the Document Object Model (DOM).
  • Explain the relationships among Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML).
